Self love and Japanese buffet at Riverside Majestic

Self love is good. Occasionally. This was a good hair day and good make up day plus my camwhore spot is awesome.

**

One fine night, we (cs and I) were talking with our friends, including two recently married couples who were giving cs and I advice on wedding photos, photography, on how to not buy extra prints they cost too much and nobody looks at wedding photos often anyway. As long as you have two albums, its enough etc.

They said we must haggle with them. Ask for more poses. Keep asking for free stuff etc. Don't pay full amount before the reception. Giving advices on dinner locations and also giving advices on wedding night entertainment. Prices, band or karaoke etc.

They are so experienced and I am such a noob.

I felt. So envious. Their weddings are over. Nothing to worry about now. Kinda makes me wish my wedding is over already. Haha. kidding kidding.

Anyway. Back to self love..

I wish I can be more bothered to dress up and put on more make up to work. But that means I have to wake up earlier - about 30 mins earlier at least. Gasp!

Never mind. I will continue going to work looking like shit. *waves hand airily. Its fine.

Oh btw, I curled my own hair. I prefer big waves like this. Finally I can curl my hair and go out in public. *beams with pride

****
Moving on.

Dad felt like Japanese food last night so we went to Riverside Majestic for the Japanese buffet. I haven't been there for quite some time. So I had no idea the place had a whole new make over! Nice. An improvement definitely.

FYI, the Japanese buffet is available every Wed and Sat night. It costs RM 79++ per person. Quite pricey but there is a wide selection of food and the chefs will gladly prepare whatever you ask for. Good service some more.

We have been going to the buffet for a few years already, since dad has always been
a member of the Prestige Club. Discount if you are a member.

We asked for sashimi! And oh boy, we got sashimi!

Sashimi! Mmmmm...yummm...

There are a few choices. You can choose which one you want. Dad requested a bit of everything. As you can see, there are salmon, white tuna (I think), mackerel, octopus, unagi, and I don't know what else.

I prefer the salmon and unagi only actually. So I took this for myself:

Salmon. No need to share. Plenty to go around.

I like that pink roll below in the photo. Salmon filling! Nicee!

Other things on my plate were ready made sushi and some fried soft shell crab.

Scallops were a bit dry. Not so nice. And quite small.

This is made to order! I ate half before realizing I forgot to take photos! Yumm..cs finds this quite gilik but I love it!

Caviar salmon sushi.

What do you call this again? Did I get the name right?

California handroll.

Not very nice photo again cos I was busy eating. And the chef had orders incoming nonstop so they were making food nonstop as well. Kinda pity them. Super busy for a few hours straight but they still manage to smile and make small talk. Lihai.

Cafe Majestic revamped.

Some ready made sushi available and that is the chef, Ken, who happily makes whatever you ask for. He told me his name is Ken but I heard some people calling him ah Gu. Hmm..

Some more photos of the food. Actually, I did not even wander over to the meat section. The lamb, beef etc. I did not try and of this too:

This was at the salad bar.

I just kept going back for the sushi and sashimi. Yummm..

Desserts.

Too many photos of food. Looking at them is making me full lar. Instead of making my mouth water. Maybe because I am still full from dinner earlier - 6 cheese pizza from Pizza Hut!!! Cheeeeeeseee galore! So filling lar.

Shit die la just realized I ate too much. Just writing this is making me worried. Better exercise more Amy!

I did actually. Last night after the Japanese buffet, I went to Core. It was Winnie's 21st birthday party in the club! So yea I burned quite a lot of calories dancing and yea I went swimming on Friday night so exercise as well.

But I think I am eating more than I work out die la. No wonder my weight is still the same despite my exercises. Tommorrow! I will run an hour.

Imagine if I gained weight instead of losing, just in time for wedding photos Amy! How nice! Fuck this is motivation enough. Imagine if they don't stock wedding dresses for fat unproportioned people. Die die die. OK. Diet starts now!

Last self love photos.

Bye~

Italian buffet at Ristorante Beccari

Last Sunday, we went to Ristorante Beccari for Winnie's birthday dinner! FYI, the buffet dinner is available only on Sundays! Also, FYI, her actual birthday is today! 27 Nov.

Ristorante Beccari.

RM 55++ for Aduls and RM 23++ for Child aged 5-12.

Not very expensive but so worth it! If you love Italian food and all pasta and pizza in general!

Why do Italians like naked statues? Or is it Europeans? Why so hiao? Hehe

Before someone starts to lecture me, I know lar. Supposedly art or some goddess or whatever. But I am not interested and prefer to remain ignorant. Spare me.

This was at home before going out:

Mum and Winnie so dressed up!

Cherrie looks so cheap!

Caption could be: I am waiting. Legs wide open. Come baby.

Now I sound hiao wtf!

Ahem. Moving on..

The family minus me. Cos I look like shit that day..

The huge oven for the pizzas.

I watched as they slide the pizzas directly into the fire like that. Wonder how long would it take to bake hmm..

Pizzas! On a thin crust. Italian style.

Not very flattering photos sorry cos I was more interested in eating. There was just so much cheese on everything. Even the salads.

Very filling. I did not even eat much. Two slices of pizza, one helping of pasta and damn I already feel somewhat full. How ar? I haven't even tried the lasagna or the beef and lamb. What about dessert?!

Of course I did eat the rest in the end lar. Cannot waste! Damn kiasu. Have to get my money's worth! =)

Here, you choose whether you want spaghetti, linguine, penne, macaroni, etc etc. I don't remember the other names but as you can see, there are about 8 different choices.

Then you pass it to the chef, who will prepare it according to how you like it:

Choose your sauce. Cream based or tomato based.

With beef, seafood, or whatever. I just pointed at Carbonara!!! I want Carbonara! Ya, I have no imagination and I have no stomach space to try the rest.

It was veryy good! Rich creamy sauce. Yumm. But very filling!

Lasagna was mediocre. Nothing outstanding.

Balson's lasagna was much better. Balson is my cousin, a chef working at one of the restaurants in Kuching. I love his lasagna! Yumm.

They also have small platters of smoked salmon..

The birthday girl herself! I love her contacts. Gray. Nice..Goes with her dress that night.

Dad had alot of this:

Baked prawns with cheese and herbs!

It was so good! But I was so full! I only had one. Dad finished off a plate by himself.

Winnie again.

Next up is the desserts!

Rich, moist chocolate cake.

Oreo cheese and sponge cake. So sinful.

Dinner was great. Everything was rich, full of taste and yummy. But I do have one complain. The pizzas were cold! Left there for quite some time. But after that they have warm, fresh from the oven pizza so its ok. But I was too full to try it already..

It was cheese cheese and more cheese galore. Which means it was a very heavy dinner. So you can't really blame me for feeling this way:

*turns on bimbo mode*

I hate buffets. They make me so fat. After all that, I felt so guilty! We reached home by about 9pm and I ran to the treadmill to start exercising for an hour. Guilty max.

*off*

I just felt like eating salads and plain vegetables with fruit for the next few days :P

Btw, its Winnie's birthday tonight. So its Core for us tonight! Very long since I last went clubbing. Don't know if I remember how to dance. Gulp.

I am engaged!

After a whole day, I have decided to remove the post below. Obviously you cant see it now. Oh well. I shall post it again if I feel like it in the future. For now, I am undecided. On when to announce. And to whom. And also I am insecure and self conscious.

So. I shall just announce it here like this:

I AM ENGAGED!!

*cue confetti and fireworks!

Truth is, the excited and euphoric part has somewhat settled. This is the calm afterwards. In that few days, I was so happy I wanted to tell everyone! I told Shirley and Nifer. I told Winnie. They were all so happy for me, which made me smile non stop and thus resulting in me constantly on the brink of weeping.

But now. We are already in the midst of planning and oh the headache. The not being able to sleep at night. Cs and I lie awake at night talking and discussing. Headache. Stress. Gastric. And cs fell sick last night!

And we just started!

Damn so this is why people elope! Oh I get it now.

This is why people don't want to get married. When I say people, I am referring to men in general.

Haha. But things will work out in the end. For now, I just have to be patient. With both our jobs, we have no time to go about planning and researching. But I won't relent. I won't get a wedding planner. I can do this on my own. With cs' help of course.

Before, when I walk into Popular (the book store) and see the wedding guide book, I look at it longingly thinking when will I ever need it.

Now, when I walk into Popular and look at the book, I frown: why does a wedding guide book that tells us to save money on wedding costs RM 40+ for a magazine.

Then, as my eyes shift to the RM 17 magazine, I instantly think: oh this is the local version - must be no good stuff inside. (Typical Malaysian Chinese thinking)

Just kidding ok. I did flip through the RM 17 magazine - nothing in there that I don't already know. Besides all the wedding photography and hotels are in West Malaysia. Nothing for us here in little Kuching.

The RM 40+ magazine is wrapped of course. No way to flip through.

Oh well. I have google. The best source of information.

One More Night by Phil Collins

Song of the day: One More Night by Phil Collins

One more night, one more night
I've been trying ooh so long to let you know
Let you know how I feel
And if I stumble if I fall, just help me back
So I can make you see

Please give me one more night, give me one more night
One more night cos I can't wait forever
Give me just one more night, oh just one more night
Oh one more night cos I can't wait forever

I've been sitting here so long
Wasting time, just staring at the phone
And I was wondering should I call you
Then I thought maybe you're not alone

Please give me one more night, give me just one more night
Oh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Please give me one more night, ooh just one more night
Oh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Give me one more night, give me just one more night
Ooh one more night, cos I can't wait forever

Like a river to the sea
I will always be with you
And if you sail away
I will follow you

Give me one more night, give me just one more night
Oh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
I know there'll never be a time you'll ever feel the same
And I know it's only words
But if you change your mind you know that I'll be here
And maybe we both can learn

Give me just one more night, give me just one more night
Ooh one more night, cos I can't wait forever
Give me just one more night, give me just one more night
Ooh one more night, cos I can't wait forever

Photos and more photos

Random photos shall suffice today! I so want to blog but not enough time. We are going out for Winnie's birthday dinner soon. Its her big 21st birthday dinner! My little sister is all grown up.

Actually Winnie always seems to me, older than her years. I don't know why. Hanging out with, talking with her, at times she seems older than 21.

Which is why, when I mentally counted Winnie's age just now, I thought that can't be right?! She is only 21? So I actually took out the calculator to double check wtf!!!

Winnie is only 21. I keep thinking she is 25 or 24. Just a few years younger than me.

Anyway..moving away from my stupidity. We are going to Restaurant Beccari - the Italian restaurant at Merdeka Palace! Pizza and pasta galore. MMmmmm...looking forward!

Photos speak for themselves..

MBO at Spring. Going to watch Harry Potter!

We went to Tray cafe for dinner and they let people write random crap on the wall with chalk.

I have always regretted not taking a photo of The Mona Lisa when I was in the Louvre. Damn regret! There are signs telling you not to take photos but screw it. I should have whipped out my camera when the guard turned his back!

Yep now the both of us have pics with Mona Lisa. With a ciggie too. Bonus.

One more.

Whoops going out now. Bye..
