I just came back from holidays yet I miss you already..Can I go back to then?
Does anyone here remember I'm iban? I nearly forgot myself, till I was asked to help to decorate the office for Gawai (the Harvest festival that Iban people celebrate). When asked to write words such as Happy Gawai Dayak in iban language, I said: I don't know. How? I don't even know how to speak/listen/write. I suck. I can't even speak Bahasa Sarawak. Hah. I suck even more. I didn't apply for leave like the rest of my colleagues, nor do I know what to answer them when they ask me how am I celebrating Gawai?
I'm the weird Iban girl with the weird Iban IC who looks nothing like Iban. Heh. Aiyaa..it doesn't take a genius to figure out my dad is Iban. My mum is Chinese. Noo..more specifically, Taiwanese. No offense to Wending and other chinese friends.
Happy Gawai to all those celebrating! Have a good holiday! FYI, We go on holiday starting on Saturday. No need to work!! And back to office on Wednesday!! Nice long break for a non-celebrating Iban girl like me.
What should I do over the long break??
In the meantime, recent photo of ah boi:
He's balding! But still cute.
Just the life of an ordinary girl who has her own share of ups and downs.

King of the Day
OK. I'm going to try and summarize the past few days in one post. A lot of photos ahead.
Cs turned 25 last friday (22/05). Needless to say, I was busy with him the whole weekend. Starting from Thursday night. He better be feeling touched, loved, appreciative, and most of all, happy. Winnie chipped in to buy her brother-in-law an electric shaver and a Tiramisu cheesecake (his request). He was hinting a few days behorehand that he liked Tiramisu.
Happy with his Tiramisu cake.
On Friday, we went to Magenta for some western food. He had lamb shank, while I had grilled salmon. I didn't take any photos of the restaurant.
Oh wait. I found this old photo from 3 years ago taken outside Magenta. Have I worn that top for so many years? Crap.
After dinner at Magenta. Before Core.
After that we went to the Core and met up with other friends. To summarize that night, we played drinking games with the waiter working there. The waiter brought cs a free drink for his birthday. When I asked what was inside, he said: ehh..don't ask this kind of stuff. Better not to know. -__-
I don't know why I look so happy here. The cake actually consisted of two slices of American Chocolate from Bing.
That night though, amazingly cs wasn't drunk. Just slightly tipsy. Nana, another friend was drunk, and threw up on her husband on the way out of Core. Right at the entrance. He was half holding her, half carrying her, and then she threw up all over his shirt, pants and shoes. Hahahhaaa... It is funny now that its over anyway.. They kept joking about it yesterday.
On Saturday morning, cs and I had to work. Booo... Woke up at 7am to pack, which means hastily throw stuff into bags then left to work. Boo again. Finished work at 1230pm, and I was starving! Went to MCD to take away and fuck. Check out the queue.
The people working at this padungan store are so slow serving customers man! I'm not kidding!! The bin is full with food, which means they don't have to wait. The fries bin is full as well and fries are freshly cooked almost every minute. So the only hold up is the pace at which they work. To their defense, there were only two tills open on a Saturday afternoon. 1230pm. Hello? Lunch hour on a weekend?! Why hire two snails?? GRR...I can imagine if Shirley was the manager of this store. SHe would be shouting: cibai. this is not a picnic. Pick up the pace. Hurry. Gap buster. Lunch time people! Hurry up hurry up. wtf.
Oh well anyway back to topic. We went to Damai Puri!! We arrived at the resort around 2pm. Pretty late. I think I had a fever by that time due to lack of sleep and rest. Grr..so, had to take medicine. Hate my body.
On arrival. I like the view from our room. The room itself was quite modern, but quite small. Or maybe its because there are 7 of us sleeping in one room. Hmm..5 guys some more. hmm.. anyway, Damai Puri made some adjustments from Damai Lagoon. The previous name. Among them was, a rather pointless addition in my opinion. A flat screen tv! cos who comes to a beach resort to watch lousy channels on tv? Jeez.
Said TV.
There are four people in this photo. From left, the visible part: part of boon's leg, frankie's arm, ong facebooking and nana.
The view from the lobby. Sorry I'm such a lousy photographer. The sun was too hot for me to take photos outside.
Sorry I suck at posing too. This photo came out wrong..
These photos were from Sunday morning. The morning before check out. Woke up at 630am to walk around the beach and took these photos.
The adult pool in the background. Its quite big, much bigger than the old one. Before renovation. There is a small portion of the pool that is converted into a mini jacuzzi. Nice..
I just woke up. My face looks weird and bloated. And my hair is way too red. Thought I dyed it dark blond?
Another view of the adult pool..
Dimple. Open your eyes baby. hahahhaa..
Ong, nana, and cs who spoiled their kodak moment.
The lobby in the background.
What happened here was, there was a jazz band playing in the background. We just came back from dinner and hung around in the lobby listening to the band. When a particularly nice slow song came on (I forgot the song!! nooo..), he led me to slow dance right there. :) awwww....
But photo came out blur. I'm going to post it anyway cos the moment was so sweet....
Some photos taken in the lobby..
The view from our balcony
The other side of the balcony. Oh ya, notice I'm not wearing a bikini this time. Cos of my back! Its so freaking ugly from the cupping! And I can't really swim. I just float around in the pool cos I'm afraid of hurting my back even more. Grr..when can I play badminton again?
Part of the kids pool. Right below our balcony. I love the slide. Like kids, we joined in screaming and laughing when playing with the slide. Fun.
I don't like that there isn't enough trees around the resort. Cos trees provide shade for me! Seriously though, the place looks too bare. Pretty nonetheless. Relaxing.
Happy Birthday baby. Hope you had a good one.
Disclaimer: I am sleep deprived. Hence this lousy post. Fitting everything in and I'm still quite blur now. Will probably explain more in the next few days..

Short Break
hello.
I'm at Damai Puri at the moment!! Checking out in half an hour and going back to Kuching.. Damai Puri is the new Damai Lagoon renovated. New swimming pools, no chalet, no carpet in rooms, smaller rooms, not enough towels, and very fast wi-fi as I am witnessing right now.
I am here cos it was Cs' birthday on 22/05. We're here with a group of friends. Speaking of cs, he is laying his head on my shouder as i type this now. Instead of the usual dinner every year, he wanted to come to Damai to stay for one night to celebrate. We brought food and booze and great company.
I will upload photos tonight when I go back tonight..

Kenko Plums
My back feels better now. The first day, it hurt to lie down, sit, or stand. Today is the 4th day. I can officially report that my back pain is gone! Yeah. Normally by 2pm, my back starts to ache already. Today, I kept waiting for the pains to come. The stabbing pains that I am used to. When I realized I wasn't hurting, it was 5pm!!! Hopefully, I am cured!
But, I wonder are there any side effects to cupping, or is it just my body that is over tired? My back bone now hurts. I wonder is it due to the effects of cupping? Or that I somehow bruised myself again? Doesn't matter cos I'm glad that my back ache is gone..
Working Saturday.
This was taken last Friday night. Cs gets so red after only one glass of alcohol. He hates it, but its healthy right. It means your blood circulation is good. Unlike me. That night I had five glasses of whiskey coke and I'm pale in comparison. Blood circulation sucks. I have terrible constipation problems. Has anyone heard of Kenko Plums? I googled Kenko Plums and that is the first page I clicked and linked. Makes life easier for myself..It is quite a detailed explanation of Kenko Plums.
Anyway, I have been taking these plums for a few months now. I love them. They make me shit much more often, without the pain that comes with taking Senokot, a Senna laxative. I have been taking Senokot for a few years, once a week. They make me shit, but painfully. Prescription says take two to four for adults. I have to take four. With four tables, comes terrible stomach pains, and hunching over the toilet bowl for 30 minutes before the shit comes out.
Mum bought these organic drinks for me as well with laxative effects but I HATE THEM. Not only are they thick and gooey which makes them hard to swallow, they are also sandy and smelly. And most importantly, they don't work!! Crap.
Then I discovered Kenko. I've read about them on many blogs in Malaysia. And I have tried searching for them in Kuching but no pharmacies sell them. So, I contacted a blogger from KL, and she mailed one box to me. It worked very well for me. In the beginning I took 3 or 4 plums per day and I went to toilet the next day without any pain, without any of the panicky feeling that I can't go out of the house. Cos I need to use the toilet. I can't go anywhere, I'm sweating like a pig from all this pain cos of the laxatives. And I need to be home the next day.
Kenko is good. Kenko is my life saver. I just wish that they are more available in Kuching, and that they are not so pricey. I need to shit more often. Now, I take one prune per day. They are not the normal Sunsweet prunes you see everywhere. Those don't work. Trust me, I know. Before I tried Kenko, I used to force feed myself prunes, bananas, papayas and whatever food I see that is labeled "hi-fiber". In the end, I get full from all that, and I don't get to eat "real" food, or any food that I want..
Once, when I was still in London, and cramming for my finals, I had no time to cook or buy anything, I had bananas the whole day. Bananas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack, before exams. Accompanied with red bull. I managed to shit the next day. Sitting in the toilet with my notes. heh. Don't think its wise to try it again in Kuching. My parents and cs will kill me.
The only time I can shit naturally is when I am nervous. When I have butterflies in my stomach. Something like that. For example, on the morning of my Bachelors graduation. While the others were eating breakfast, I was searching for a toilet, cos I was so nervous in anticipation of graduation man!!! Or before check-in, boarding a plane back to Malaysia. Or before an exam wtf. Sad and silly, but true.
Sigh. I envy people who can shit everyday.. Life is good.

Cupping
It is finally Sunday. One free day. No plans to do anything today and I'm happy. It is Sunday but I'm not playing badminton this week.
Hmm...for those who know me well should know that I always have backache, on the lower left side of my back. Over the years, it only hurts before my period comes, or when I carry heavy stuff.. With period, come stomach pains and backache. But these recent months, my back aches more and more often, now everyday. I can't sit for too long. This proves to be a dilemma since my job requires me to sit in front of the computer on hours at a time.
I know that people who knows I have backache tell me, you should get up and walk every hour, more often. But, surely everyone can understand that when you're concentrating hard on something, you don't want to get up and walk around. When you do come back, that piece of thought is gone. And I lose the motivation, will to continue. Actually, come to think of it, I do go to toilet very often. Probably the most amongst my colleagues. They probably already think that I'm a lazy bum who wastes time.
My parents brought me to a specialist, who probed and touched my back to find the problem, and then prescribed some medicine for me, which stopped the pain for a while. After I stopped taking the medicine, the pain came back. So it was probably painkillers. :(
So, cs brought me to a chinese drugstore to get checked up. After touching and probing my back, listening to my pulse, like those Wang Fei Hong movies type doctor (haha i think its funny), he asked me do I get dizzy very easily? He said something about my ying or yang or whatever is unbalanced. I duno man. I can't even read the chinese words he wrote on the paper. Anyway, he also said my back pains were due to blood clots around the area, and that I should do cupping.
Without further ado, cs and I went into the back room, where he started. He said it will hurt. Cs' sister-in-law who went through this before said it doesn't hurt. Amy says: it hurts like hell. I don't want to imagine giving birth man! SHit! Some more, giving birth is pain from my vagina, my abdomen omg.
Sorry. Back to topic..
First, he located the spot where my clot area was. I'm sorry I don't know how he did that cos obviously I'm lying down on my stomach and gripping cs' hand so tightly from the pain, that I can't be bothered to remember what it feels like. I only know it hurts.
I know that he used little needles to poke hard into my already painful back (it hurts!), before he put the little cup on it and started pumping (it hurts again). Damn. do i have a low tolerance for pain or what. Anyway, according to the chinese sensei, I should have been in pain for quite some time cos the blood clot was quite a lot and very thick.
Cs, who was watching the whole thing said that blood is supposed to be flowing smoothly, like water. But my blood was so thick that it wouldn't even fall from the cup. Eww..
I know it looks gross...
Aftermath, my back now looks like this:
Like shit! And it still hurts. I can't bend down. The skin is still raw and bruised. I hope it gets well soon lar...I hope my back ache is gone. The all the pain is worth it. Boo...

May 09 & 10
Has it been so long since I updated? Hmm..
Kevin (my bro) turned 26 yesterday. He is still not acting his age. Just now in the car, on the way back from dinner, he was still punching and pushing me around, just like what he used to do some 10, 15 and 20 years ago. I always get the unpleasant seat of sitting in the middle between kevin and winnie. Kevin would start pushing to get more space for himself. When I ask for a piece of tissue from mum in front, he would snatch it out of my hands just to piss me off. Then wipe his mouth with it, and throw it back at me.. Silly stuff like that.
In a way, I am glad that he is still the same. Would we go on teasing each other like that 10, 20 years down the road? I cant imagine when we are grown up. Shit I am grown up. I mean, when we are each married with kids. Fighting in front of our children? Haha. Winnie showing off her kung fu skills in the house. Oh yea, recently winnie and mum have started showing off kung fu skills trying to out beat each other, see who can jump higher, kick higher etc. Pretty dumb, but entertaining for the rest of us watching.
For his birthday, I got him 4 packets of keropok (crisps). Call me cheap skate all you want dear brother! Its a long standing joke between the both of us. As kids, I used to buy him things like jigsaw puzzles, that actually I want. But I buy it for him. Then, knowing he won't like it, he will give it to me. Hahaa..wtf I know! That was when we were still in primary school. Then, I bought him cheap 20 cents lee fah mee keropok. Mostly food cos he likes to eat.
He always complains but he eats them all the same. He has already finished half of what I gave him yesterday. Should mean he likes them eh. :p
It is obligatory to have red eggs on the morning of our birthday at home. Dad started this tradition. It is just normal hard boiled eggs that have been dyed red. They taste the same as normal eggs except your hands are red after eating them.
He likes American Chocolate Cake. We went to a seafood restaurant for dinner last night. The whole family. I forgot the name of the restaurant. It was at RH Plaza at BDC. Dad said the kopitiam is new, just opened for business yesterday, meaning we were there on the first day. Dad was already telling everyone: this restaurant ho jiak (very delicious in hokkien). How the heck does he knows? He haven't even tasted it. His friend was the chef.
Anyway, we were sitting outside a shoplot number 33. I thought ei...this number is nice for a shop. Then, I asked dad: where is your office? I know its at RH Plaza, just didn't expect dad to answer me: this is my office larrr. Number 33. Upstairs!! This whole three floor! I burst out laughing. Turns out, before I asked dad, winnie had asked kevin the exact same question. After i asked, mum asked dad again: where is your office? We were all idiots. We all knew it was around that area. In our defense, dad didn't put up a huge sign outside his office, how do we know? He said the sign is at the back, cos the back is facing the main road. And at the staircase. True also. He is not opening a kopitiam, don't have to put a huge sign board to attract customers. heh..
It is Mum's Day today so Winnie and I bought mum these:
Pink carnations, and lily. Beautiful.
We went to Bella Italia for dinner, also at RH Plaza. Mum likes italian food, especially pizza. I inherited that from mum. Also inherited her looks I think:
I was starving so I didn't take any photos of the food sorry. But yea bella italia. Should give it a try if you haven't been there. Prices affordable. Portion just nice. Not too big, not too little. Taste is yum.

Hmm..
Hello.
I tried to curl my hair again quite unsuccessfully. Winnie is better than me. She is better than me in things like these, cause I lack the patience and the detail oriented part of mind she has. Sometimes I think she is suited to be the older sister since she is the one who nags me.
For instance.
Winnie: Meee ar..when are you going to put your clothes in the new closet? What are you doing tomorrow? Do it! Its public holiday. Since you're free go now. Btw, where is the earrings you bought at KL?
Me: I don't know, can't find them.
Winnie: How can you not find them? You just arrived back from KL. It has to be somewhere etc etc etc. Nag nag nag nag..I'm used to this by now. Quite immune to her nagging and our whole family is used to this reverse sister personality by now..
******
Swine flu is spreading so fast across so many countries around the world. Those of you in Europe, I hope you guys stay safe. More and more cases are reported now..
*Sigh*
Economy sucks lately.
Time to save money..why does everything come all at once?
