Singapore

Singapore trip from last year. Found this in my Drafts.

Fond memories of shopping with mum, stopping for beers and recharging ourselves - me playing with my phone and her playing Hay Day whenever we come across free wifi.

Mum bought me that demon light thingy cos it was Halloween and lots of people were wearing it. She said it suits me. So I wore it to dinner with dad's friends and inside the casino. Hahah. Got a few stares - this juvenile girl not gambling but walking around the casino with that ridiculous head bead drinking beer. Yep that's me.

Another night found mum and I inside Planet Hollywood (me thinks) drinking again after our shopping. Looking at these photos got me thinking: would be nice to have a daughter right? More than a boy cos daughters will accompany mum's shopping and drinking but not boys.

Look at how often Winnie and I went out with mum to VA over the years, and Planet. Proof eh. And how many times Kev went out with mum? None! Kev doesn't drink or shop. Cs ah? Don't remember the last time he went out with his mum only too. Mostly just his sister. More proof!

Gawd we two are bad influences for each other. This was after shopping at Orchard. Tired from shopping - find a bar to sit down and drink. =.= Talk and people watch.

And this is our pre-dinner drinks in the hotel lobby. In our defense, there was some happy hour going on. Buy 1 get 1 free I think. Uncle Johnny and dad came to join us shortly after this! :)

OK last photo. Aside from all the drinking, we ate a lot of food during the trip. Shopped a fair bit. Gambled a fair bit (the men only).

In case you think we are such alcoholics, we only drink in the day time on holidays okay. Holidays what. Why not? And its not just me. When mum and Winnie go on holidays, they do the same!

Notice what's the thing in common? Mum. So its mum's fault. Hehe.

I can imagine her reaction reading this.

Spluttering in disbelief: moi?? moi??

OK bye.

More Taiwan

More Taiwan photos. Quick one today cos I'm not feeling very wordy or long winded. Surprise surprise!

Got these two dresses for RM 25 each at wu fen pu. Not much choices cos mostly winter wear still. Regret not buying more from that stall though.

My cat hair tie. Cute or eerie? Got it from the underground mall. Forgot how much. Only dilemma is I don't know which way the cat is looking when I tie my hair.

Starbucks was full so Cs and I sat outside a bench outside the shopping mall. It was cool and slightly drizzling but still kinda awesome being there. On holiday. No need to work. No fixed plan for the day. It was there that we saw a homeless guy (or so we thought) and debated whether to leave some bread or coins for him. Until his wife came out of the mall and kicked him in the shins for falling asleep. Hehe. Really thought he was homeless. Sorry man.

Told you we stayed in a homestay right? This is one of the rooms. Awesome eh? We booked three rooms for the 7 of us. Cs and my room was smaller by half. The same price though. So I guess when you make the reservation, you just have to request for a bigger room?

Everything looked new and clean. Very good. The staff come in once a day to take out the thrash and sweep the floors but that's it. No thorough cleaning like in a hotel room. OK la. I would still stay here again. RM 140 I think per night. If I'm not mistaken. Best part of the room is the washing machine and dryer. So nice can do laundry at night.

Saw Shinjuku plaza and took a photo.

We went to try TGI Friday's cos I wanted a change. Service was damn good ok. Sat down and gave us free milkshakes to try immediately. I'm a sucker for free stuff can you tell? Small milkshakes of course but free nevertheless.

My bacon cheeseburger. The bacon turns me off actually. Not crispy enough. Handed the whole thing to Cs. But burger was good! :)

Cs' pork ribs? Must be pork right?

This is us in our small room.. it was just enough for the two of us. Oohh btw new phone cases. Actually mine is a sticker. But our casing quite cool - I like. Its just the sides only - need screws to open and close. Quite mahuan now I think of it. Cs lost my Malaysia SIM card so I had to get a replacement card. But we couldn't open my phone case till we found the mini screwdriver. Err yea. But still cool. Heh.

The infamous ah chung mien sien where everyone eats standing up. No chopsticks just a spoon to slurp it all up. I miss this!! All those people standing around are customers ah. Always a huge crowd whether day or night.

Our apartment is just opposite this place. Good location.

OK update next time. Bye.

CNY day 1

This was from the first day of CNY. To be honest I got confused already between what I already posted on Dayre and my blog. Most of the time I end up going: aih no need to post la. Heheh.

But I'm sure I didn't post this vain photo yet! Curled my hair in the morning and put on make up. Dressed nicely while Cs lazed in bed. Booooo.. guys have it so easy. Hmph. He took all of 15 mins to get ready whereas I needed an hour. Washed and blow dryed my hair some more.

Then we went to my parents place to give out ang pau. First one was Eli. She collected so much angpau lo. All of us gave her, including Winnie. Then ama, and my aunts give her too. Cos Eli so hardworking. We also gave out ang pau's to my parents, Winnie, ama and the kids. Ok la once a year.

I actually only have this photo with mum and Win. Didn't even take any photos AT ALL with dad or Kev. What the hell man. And today's chap goh meh already. It means 15th day of CNY, which means today is the last day of CNY. Time really flies.

My mum looks good for her age eh? One little girl (about 10) was over at our house that first day. She went up to my mum and said: jie jie, wo yau pei ji (Translation: sister, I want a cup please). None of us heard this except mum.

I turned around to find my mum laughing hysterically to herself while she related this to us. Jie jie (sister) ok!! My mum is 55 this year. She was SOOO HAPPY. My dad heard and immediately burst out: ni jiao ta jie jie?!???? (you called her sister???) All the adults burst out laughing at dad's indignation, and mum's hysterics. Heheh it was funny then. Still funny whenever I think of it now. The little girl was bewildered: like what's going on?

Come to think of it, its been a while since I heard jie jie too FML. A lot of cousin's kids or friends kids or Cs' brother's kids call me aunty now! My mum in law wants the kids to call me ah sim (sounds damn old please!!) But I always say e e (aunty), while pointing to myself. Heheh.

Since its Valentine's today, got excuse to post photos of us. Heh.

I stayed at my parents place till about 1 pm only I think. Then we went back to change and went to the airport with his family. We stayed in KK for a night before going to Taipei. Stupid AA changed our flight time to and fro. Cheaper but unreliable. Oh well.

I bought my dress from H&M in Japan. It was on sale. I saw the dress months ago in KL and in Singapore. But I refused to buy because I had a sleeveless dress exactly the same also bought in H&M. But in Japan, it was on sale. Aih so cheap and some more I keep trying it on again and again. So fine. I bought it! Yay. No regrets. Its fate. Haha.

Supposed to wear this dress tonight again but decided not to put on makeup since we be going to the beach! Got excuse to look terrible since I'm not staying at home. Going to overnight at Damai. Happy me. Wanted to go to Damai since forever. Plus I'm lazy to pack all my makeup stuff and remover. Not that much la but yeah lazy. OK bye.

A little about Taiwan and stuff

Well damn has it been so long since my last update?

So I'm back in Kuching. We arrived late last night about 11:30 pm. After unpacking, having supper and talking with the family, we collapsed in bed about 1:30 am. Woke up around 11 am today, napped once around 3 pm to 6 pm. And now I'm here ready to collapse soon. Hahha. Recuperating from non stop walking the past 9 days. Tired mannn..

Ate a lot of good food. As witnessed on my Dayre. Well I posted some. Got my cravings satisfied.

Some night market food. I still don't know what that top left thing is. Cs read the chinese words but he's still confused =.= Some fancy name. Tasted like fried cheese, mozarella inside but mixed with something else and topped with takoyaki toppings. Still nice. Top right is a bowl of fried oysters - very worth it. And the dumpling thingy is oysters and meat inside. Cherries below. And some pork ribs thingy in the bag.

A typical breakfast for the both of us. Shared this and then a glass of juice! Perfection! That's oyster omelet (we ate a lot of oysters this trip. Scared to go blood test now) Ru rou fan/lo bak peng (braised meat sauce with rice and an egg), and that's mee hoon with ru rou fan sauce. Prefer it with rice though.

Niu pai. Beef steak with spaghetti. We have this in Kuching. Tried the one at Kenyalang. Mehh...don't like it. Actually I don't like this one above too - think it was kinda mehh. At a food court in some shopping mall.

Shop? Well...its technically winter so all sweaters and stuff. I bought two dresses, but gave one to Eli. I love that dress but I also love Eli. So gave her one la. Cannot be selfish! Heard that she was sick over cny..kolien.

She got married btw. They exchanged rings already. Eli delayed her return cos she didn't want to abandon us during cny, busy period cos we couldn't find a maid in time. So they exchanged rings only. Feel sorry for her. But so grateful too. We didn't ask her to do this. She volunteered. Haih this makes me damn sad. Where can we find another Eli?? EVER?!!

Cherrie is angry at me for abandoning her for so long. Really!! She growled at me and won't let me carry her yesterday night when I went to see her. Then this morning she was still angry at me. But about 6 pm, finally she forgave me sort of. She wagged her tail (finally) and came running around me and allowed me to carry her. She's not angry at Cs though. Unfair!

Eli said: Cherrie tunggu kamu bawa walk walk. Kamu tak datang tengok dia. (Translation: Cherrie keeps waiting for you to bring her walk walk but you didn't come.) Just now I wanted to bring her walk but she ignore me. This dog damn stingy la. Think she's the boss of me or something?! Hahha. She is. Princess.

I bought a few pairs of shoes though! Happy me! Determined to shop some. Cannot buy clothes fine. I buy shoes! One pair of heels, two flats and another erm loafers (?). Happy me. All less than Rm 39. Yay. Got cheaper ones for RM 20 but cannot fit me. Oh well.

Cs being a good uncle. This was yesterday morning when we left Taiwan.

About 5 seconds after this photo, Nathan peed all over Cs' shirt. Hahah kolien. Poor thing both of them. Nathan looks bewildered like what's going on? And Cs was panicking: what to do? what to do? where's everyone? It was just us three waiting for the rest to come. Heheh.

This was on a cable car going up to Maoking mountain (I think). I have never sat so long in cable car ok! Cs fell asleep!! About 30 mins? I'm guessing la. But there's only so long you can admire the view, and take photos. Which is about 1 minute. Hahahah the next 29 you're just thinking, when is this going to end?

The view up there was worth it la! So ok worth a go. Tickets costs only RM 5. Single. Love that entrance prices all so cheap one.

We had coffee and some light food outside. Nicee.

Been eating ALOT this trip. Drank apple sidra (which tastes like zapple only less sweet), almost every day. Bo su go buy chocolates to eat some more. Ish. I saw a guy having chocolate and it looks so good that I went to buy one myself.

I was so afraid of gaining weight. Weighed myself just now. Gained nothing phew. Same old same old. All that walking helped offset the food and drinks. Yay.

Ok update more next time.
