New Oshine

I just asked Winnie how come there's so many mosquito bites on me? We're both sitting here but how come I get bitten more?

Winnie, munching on cornflakes said: they find alcohol-induced blood more tempting.

Me: I haven't had alcohol in days ok!

Winnie started laughing non stop. She was literally throwing her hands up in the air, rolling around in her chair, laughing non stop. That is when I realized I had just opened a can of Tiger beer and left it in front of me.

Me: I haven't taken a sip larrr...!

She went on laughing and laughing non stop... now we know why mosquitoes prefer me. Dammit.

If I were a bitch yao, which I am, I would say they prefer lean meat! =p

I have a cleavage. I love this dress.

I digress to talk about Kevin for a while. For those who don't know, Kevin is my very dear brother who is also very fat. Here:

Reason i'm talking about Kevin now is cos Winnie said I am in denial over the alcohol thing. If anyone is in denial, its Kev. He always calls winnie pork porkster, ah fat, pig etc. you get what I mean. Point is, he doesn't think he's fat. According to his delusional mind, he is fine. Big boned. Big. While winnie is Fat. Denial.

Back to me. Friday night. Looking forward to a long weekend and now its over. Boo. We went for dinner at this place called Oshine. The old Oshine. Its a new name now but I don't remember what its called. Its near Golden Sands; the massage place. Near DPS- Dua Puluh Sen. Damn hard to describe the place. Somewhere near Spring. Ok anyway. Give this place a try. We went on a Friday night and it was practically empty. Nearly regretted our choice but it was quite late and cs was hungry and I was irritated so we settled sown to order.

Because it was a Friday, I had an excuse to drink. But look. Have you ever had Tiger in such a huge glass/mug? Its not draft ok. The glass is filled with way too much ice and I would have drank from the tin itself if the can was clean.

Look at the plate below. What is the first thing that comes to mind?

Cs started laughing when they brought him his plate. He said: Microsoft. I was like huh?

Only then I realized ohh..Microsoft Windows. Idiot.

Laughing happily at his plate. He ordered butter chicken with rice btw. It came in a Microsoft Windows plate which made him very happy. Geek.

It tastes good according to the picky eater, so yea I think you should take that as a yes. the only complain from the picky eater was: the rice. Apparently it was not ...loose enough. It was clumped..lumpy..lumpy.. i hope u know what I mean cos I have trouble finding words to describe. Anyway, how delicious can one cook steamed rice??!

The interior of said cafe. Very cold inside actually. There were three air cons on at full blast and only two customers. Our meal of butter chicken on a Windows plate, a big bowl of crab and corn soup, as well as three cans of Tiger came down to only RM28. Damn cheap ok. Even if it doesn't taste good, its stil cheap. But yea, its good. My crab and corn soup was good too, can actually taste the crab. Not the frozen crab stick type which I was expecting for the price I was paying.

A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words.

Sematan

Over the long weekend, I went up to Sematan for a day trip. It is a 1.5 hour drive away from Kuching. On Sunday cs had to work till around 130pm so we went up around 3pm. When cs and I arrived at Sematan, we realized the rest were fishing at some bridge en route to Sematan. As anyone who knows me should know my fear of getting dark. In the car, I used 3 of those sun shades on my window, and a beach towel to cover my arms and legs. Would have covered my face if I didn't have to talk to cs. heh. So, we whiled the time away eating and drinking while waiting for the sun to set...bit idiotic.

Actually wanted to order myself a cocktail, but cs said: Juice! Healthy! Vitamin C! Sigh..so I had orange juice. sigh. The cocktails sound so tempting: tequila sunrise. the name sounds so beach like and delicious even though I have no idea what is inside..and I normally don't drink cocktails cos they're always too sweet and alcohol is not meant to be sweet. That's what I think anyway.

This thing is cheap. RM10 only. Cheap no? Since its at Sematan, we expected it to be more pricey kinda like Damai, since its further from the city. But its cheap. Very worth it. They could charge more for this and people would still pay cos the city center isn't nearby and its damn hot. don't know how is that relevant but to me the sun is an excuse for everything. too hot cannot go swim. too hot cannot walk on the beach. cannot walk around. no shade etc etc. i know what you're thinking. why are you at the beach in the first place?!

I will come out after i lather on tons of sunblock and after the sun has set.

cs has been very patient with me so far. hahahaa...

Vitamin C.

We went kayaking around 6pm that evening after the rest of the group arrived. Cs and I in one kayak, and ah boon and John in the other one. I was eagerly anticipating the kayak but it wasn't as much fun as I had hoped. I wonder why I had more fun the other time around? Cos the waves were bigger, cos it was raining then? Cos there were less people on the beach? Hmm..I think it would have been more fun if there were more people kayaking. A bigger group I mean.

After we returned the kayaks, we played/swam for a while before calling it a day. The guys had fun messing around in the water, taking off their pants and swiming naked. Haha..they were in quite deep and no one could see anyway.

After returning the kayaks and washing up, we piled into two cars and went on the road again back to Kuching. It was dark by then around 7pm. Some more it had started raining. Not easy to drive down to Kuching cos it was very dark, with very little or no street lights at all. Cs was driving so slowly and the journey took us 2 hours back. Stopped off at Batu Kawa for dinner aound 9pm. By then, everyone was starving.

It's back to work today. Tuesday. I'm having PHS. Post Holiday Syndromes. Too much fun and not enough rest apparently..heh.

Boredom II

There's this Project 365 going around the blogosphere right now. About taking a photo everyday for a whole year. take a photo and post it on your blog. Then when you look back one year later, it'll be pretty cool right. I like the idea but I'm so lazy to take photos I know it wont work for me. Heh..

Besides my weekdays are so typical that I would do a better job of taking a photo every weekday in the toilet.

So this is a Wednesday photo in the toilet.

And this is a Thursday photo at my desk wtf. Hahah..not like there's anything different from the other hundreds of photos I took at work. So yea Project 365 does not work for me.

In the weekends, my days get slightly more interesting. Oh wait. I have to work every Sat morning now. $%^&*£*

So this is a Sat morning photo. I went to the saloon after work and cut my hair so at night I look like this:

Sat night photo. That night after dinner at The Courtyard, the parents dropped winnie and I off at Core (a pub/club). Winnie and I went to the toilet and chose a table. Barely 5 minutes later, I turned around to see mum and dad walking in to join us. Apparently they were bored and going home early on a Saturday night with the TV is boring. So they decided to join us. Pretty cool and sporting of them. So we had a bottle of Tiger each.

The Courtyard. Somewhere at Sarawak Pavillion.

Pretty soon Frankie and ah boon arrived. They were surprised to see my parents there but still joined us at the table drinking. Not 5 minutes later, cs arrived. Heh. Quite a crowd now. Mum and dad left soon after that.

Wee Lee

It was Wee Lee's birthday last week. On Mar 5 if I'm not mistaken. Alvin (wl's hubby) called us on the day itself and invited us for a bbq dinner at his house that day. We were all surprised, why the invitation? why dinner? then ah boon realized first: oh shit. we forgot wl's birthday!!

Heh...so of course everyone canceled all plans after work and went to his house. Cs finished work at 9pm and hurried over. Kl and David arrived late at around 10pm. nana and ah ong were still in work clothes.. It seems everyone was busy.

But we had fun together nonetheless. Good food, and great company. I didn't take any photos of the food, or other people. heh. I don't deserve a camera phone or a blog apparently.

Anyway we bought a box of red wine for her cos she loves it. Think she can finish a bottle by herself, no problem. Haha..

Happy Belated Birthday Wee Lee. I just realized I forgot to blog about her wedding..next post!

Not enough time

...to please everybody..including taking care of my body. The other day I asked eli, while taking my medicines: why do I get sick so easily?

She said: not enough rest laaaaaaaaa.... not enough sleep.

Damn. even my maid nagsss me for not resting more.

Anyway, I've recently been playing badminton, and watching more badminton games. I was never really interested in the game. Even though I joined badminton club back in high school for all five years, I've only probably played half a game in the five years. I was never interested in the game, but badminton club seems to be less hassle than joining leo club, scout, interact etc....which have much much more activities.

But ever since I got together with cs, who is hmm..quite a badminton fanatic, I've been joining him for more games. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the game more than I expected. Some more, it was a very good form of exercise. After each game I sweated so much and definitely felt much more energized.

Kuching's Lee Chung Wei. The other day we were in the pub, some middle aged guys turned to cs and asked: eii..lee chung wei? you look like him larr..etc.. even my parents and brother say they look alike. Once, at KK, a group of teenagers called after cs as he walked by: LCW! cs turned around in surprise and they excitedly turned to each other as if thinking cs really was lcw. wtf. damn funny. cs was so embarrassed he quickly walked away..

This is Malaysia's Lee Chung Wei.

Photos stolen from google..

alike? no idea really. hahaha.

Cs definitely influenced our whole group to play badminton with him. After a few sessions with him, I hope I improved! I sucked at badminton before since I've only played the game 3 times in my entire life?! Now I'm joining them at least once a week. Nice. He is now training me to play. Being my coach. heh..hit the ball harder. lift your arms higher. be more confident etc etc..

Another badminton session tomorrow. Looking forward!
