Mum's birthday at VA

Remember it was my mum's birthday on the 4th? We went to VA last night. It was hilariously fun for mum and her friends. Mum's theme for the night was dresses for everyone. Janet and Angela's top were see through. As the night wore on they got louder and noisier. Occasionally louder than the band i think.

Janet, Shirley, Angela, Rita and mum. People always says VA is full of old ladies. Compared to Soho yes. But don't be fooled by these ladies. They can still drink and dance and have fun.


Oh yea I learned how to apply fake eyelashes. Finally. Winnie and I spent ages trying to stick it on but you get better with practice. Nice. After putting the finishing touches to her makeup, Winnie stuck her face in front of dad's and asked: How do i look?

Dad said: like you got beaten up. Badly bruised in the eye.

Kevin's reply to Winnie used to be: fat.

She stopped asking after that. Guys just don't know stuff like these. For those who don't know Kevin, he insults everyone all the time. But in a joking way. When Elaine eats, he tells her to stop eating and pinch her fat. In front of everyone. When I apply make up he tells me what for you put so much stuff on your face. You look ugly and it won't change. He even nicknamed Winnie 'pork' when he himself is fat! His mouth just never stops insulting others..

One lady was drunk. Nobody I know and not in our group. She fell a couple of times on the dance floor and threw up in the toilet. Eww..

Surprisingly I was never drunk in London. I mean drunk till I threw up. Pats myself on the back. But Kuching yes. Think I was never properly drunk in London cos I had to take bus or catch a tube and walk home. I used to think its unsafe to be walking in the streets when you're drunk. So I always managed to control myself before I crossed the line.

But in Kuching there's a car to bring you home. Supposed to be safe but its not too. Therefore I should stop drinking. Argh. The only solution. Alcohol is dangerous and makes me stupid.

Just Friends

Has anyone watched Just Friends before? Starring Ryan Reynold. After the movie ended, my brother asked Winnie and I: Do you think he's hot? Simultaneously we answered YES immediately. Then Kevin said: why both of you answer so fast? Again we said: True bah. He IS hot!

I always notice the hot guys in movies. Do guys notice guys as well? I know wending drools over McDreamy. Haha. I'm kidding.

How do women attract men anyway I wonder..In Grey's Anatomy, Izzie said: blonde hair, the face, big boobs. Guys just notice her as she walks in. She's gorgeous. Anyone would agree.

Mom's day

Its mum's birthday today (4th). She didn't want to celebrate. Said something about some superstition that since its her 49th she can't celebrate. I don't understand. But we're just going to have dinner at home. Take away Pizza cos its also mum's fav food. Haha. Aren't we too alike? Like mother like daughter.

Btw, mum is reading her birthday card now. Hand made by Winnie. We wrote a long page of English words on it since she likes to see alot of words but can't really understand. Hehe. I'm evil for laughing at her when she's trying to learn English. Typical Taiwanese accent. Like my cousins speaking English. =) She can really understand when Kev, Win and me go on our conversation and sometimes even join in unexpectedly and surprise us with her English knowledge. But her speaking is terrible. Haha..

Mum said just remember to write this sentence every year and I will be happy. Most important is this sentence.

"You are still young and beautiful every year" wtf right?

Anyway this is for mummy. May she live a long happy life.

Ice skating

Suddenly reminiscing on ice skating. Don't know why. But maybe meeting with Aik Lung reminded me of London. He is leaving tomorrow. I don't remember my first ice skating trip. Was it with AL, Sze Lin and Shirley at Greenwich?

Yea, I think that was my first time ice skating. The rink wasn't so full and it was drizzling a little that cold winter night. I think I still kept the ticket to enter the ice rink that night. My first step on the ice, slipped a little but quickly got the hang of it. Ice skating is just like roller blades except much more slippery. If you go too quickly, you might fall on ice. Wet and painful and humiliating. But very fun to watch.


Willie's first time ice skating. Fell down and dragged Nifer down with him. It was hilarious and I had to take this photo. Some people like Wai Tjun loves coming up unexpectedly behind you and dragging you down with him. For fun. Siao.

Anyway. the photo below was ice skating in Newcastle. Our outing to the beach was canceled and we ended up ice skating that day. Oh yea, we all produced fake student IDs to get cheaper tickets that day. Everyone including Micky who wasn't even a student in UK. Just a tourist from Singapore pretending to be a student. Except Willie. He was honest when asked and said: no longer a student. The girl serving us actually smiled and said: so honest. But i'll give you student price. which caused everyone of us to laugh out loud.

Noobs learning how to skate. Damn. I miss those days.

Some people are really pro skaters, skating very fast, making fancy circles and twists and turns on the ice, but most people are average skaters. Going on in a smooth steady pace. Then there are the couples. Holding hands while skating together. And then there are the amateurs who hold on to the handrails letting go briefly to attempt to skate.

The photo below was taken in London, this time with Wai Tjun, Eva and his friends from Plymouth. We were at Canary Wharf. I normally wear size 6 skates but don't know why this time the skates were so tight I hurt myself. My feet were bleeding badly by the end of that hour.

Ice skating at Hyde Park, London on Dec 07 with Shirley, Nifer, Willie and Tjun. Very very cold night out ice skating. Was sick the next day. Probably the biggest ice skating rink among all of them and the most crowded. When skating, people tend to go anti clockwise in one direction. You don't go in the opposite direction or you get scolded or you bump into strangers and fall down together.


I miss these girls!! When will we meet again??

I've crashed into people or to the sides because I don't know how to brake to stop myself. Mostly I just hold out my hands to stop myself when I reach the side. On the ice rink, we all have our own pace. We move along by ourselves and wait by the side for each other talking, resting. Taking photos. Holding hands with Willie.


Yes reminiscing. I miss those times. I miss everyone. I actually miss winter. Hahaha..

Babylon AD

I went to watch Babylon AD with Winnie, Kevin, Elaine, Gordon and ah Pau. The movie was starring Vin Diesel. I never really liked him before. But now I do. He is sexy. I liked the part when Michelle Yeoh told him: I have 3 rules for you. And he gave her that slow lazy smile while looking so effortlessly sexy. And his body. Hot!

Ok, back to the movie. Err..a bit hard to explain and damn i'm so not in the mood to elaborate. The ending was terrible though. The movie was not bad seriously but the ending spoiled the movie. It was as if the ending was so hastily put together. We all complained about the ending.

The movie is set in 2019; basically about Toorop (Vin Diesel) as a mercenary hired to transport Aurora (Melanie thierry) to New York. Aurora is supposedly carrying a virus that could destroy the human race. At age 2, she could speak 19 different languages and ever since young she's always known things even if it was her first time. Example, she knows how to work a 30 year old Russian submarine.

Actually not a bad movie, nice to watch with good scenes. Oh yea, Datuk Michelle Yeoh is Aurora's long time guardian who accompanies her to New York. As usual in movies, she is kicking ass..

I wonder where Babylon was filmed cos the movie showed scenes from Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Canada and New York. OK. I googled it. Parts of the film was filmed in Czech Republic and Iceland.

After movies we went to McD for supper. I had a McFlurry while they had double cheeseburgers, fries, nuggets, banana pie etc. I miss Shirley! Hahahaha..miss those guys back in McD. I miss London.
